Best Place In Britain For A Doggy Holiday Named
Many dog owners can feel restricted over where to take their pets on holiday, as some places are not very happy about having pets there. However, a new survey has revealed where our furry friends are most likely to get a warm welcome.
The study by AirBnB management firm GuestReady surveyed 73 towns and cities across the UK and found that Carlisle was the place most likely to welcome pets to an Airbnb, with 59.8 per cent of the properties listed happy to do this. Hereford was second on 49 per cent and Lancaster third on 45.3 per cent. Further south, Chichester came fourth and Salisbury fifth.
A spokesperson for GuestReady said: “For many people, pets are like family, so leaving them in kennels or with strangers when going on holiday doesn’t feel like a viable option.”
This news may be encouraging for dog lovers heading to these places, all small cities close to areas of countryside where their pets may love roaming around in the fresh air, as well as joining their owners in exploring historic Roman walls and prehistoric stone circles.
However, you can also give your pet some holiday treats this summer while still in south London. Some dog daycare in Chiswick will do just as much to give your pet a great treat and leave them feeling extra special as a trip somewhere novel and green.
Of course, it could be you end up pampering your dog to get them looking good again after they arrive back from holiday a bit wet and mucky, having enjoyed every minute of getting in such a state.
As the Dogs Trust notes, the best places to take a dog on holiday are mostly rural, as they can enjoy the wide open spaces. The Lake District tops this list, which is hand as both Carlisle and Lancaster are close to it.
However, it also noted that a city break is still a good option for a pooch used to urban environments (as it would be living in London).
