How Do Our Dogs Show Us They Love Us?
Dogs are man's best friend and we often love them just as much as the rest of our friends and family, if not more. We show this to them through cuddling, petting, feeding and playing with our pets, but sometimes it can be difficult to know if they love us back.
Obviously your pet will love you, but knowing the ways they show this can help to reinforce your relationship with your family pet and allow you to better understand them and why they sometimes act the way they do.
A relaxed dog is a happy dog and this is one of the key signs your dog loves and trusts you. If your dog is able to relax their body, wag their tail and enjoys lounging with you in the house and never seems to be on edge or nervous, it is a good sign that your pet simply adores you.
Dogs are instinctive animals and usually will not let their guard down around those they do not trust or are not familiar with, therefore if your dog always seems at ease around you, it is a good sign.
Another of the main signs your dog is happy and comfortable around you is if they wag their tails. Wagging tails are a sign of happiness and excitement and often dogs will wag their tails to indicate they are happy to be with you.
While it may sometimes be annoying, if your dog enjoys licking you it can be their way of showing affection. Dogs in the wild will lick and groom each other as a way to show love and affection, therefore if your dog licks you often they are showing you they love and care for you.
If your dog sleeps on their back ,it is a very clear indicator that they feel safe, secure and happy around you. This is the most vulnerable position for a dog to sleep in and then showing you this by sleeping belly-up indicates they feel comfortable and at ease around you and love you.
